(Video) Great Talk at the Vegetarian Society of Hawaii - "Are Humans Designed To Eat Meat?"
Uploaded on Jun 3, 2011 on You Tube
A presentation by Milton Mills, M.D.
The major causes of death in Western countries are cardiovascular diseases and cancers. Abundant medical research linking these diseases to dietary and lifestyle factors, guidelines advanced by the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and the Surgeon General, among others, counsel Americans to sharply reduce animal foods consumed and replace them with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. In effect, they are recommending a more plant-based diet, which begs the question: Are humans designed to eat meat?
Milton Mills, M.D. has an extensive background in nutrition research, focusing on the role nutrition plays in the development of chronic diseases. He is a graduate of the Stanford University School of Medicine and is a practicing physician in the Washington, D.C. area. He also serves as the Associate Director of Preventive Medicine for the health policy group Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. He has lectured extensively throughout North America and is a Nutrition Health Education Video Spokesperson for the Discovery Health Channel.

Day 1 of a Month Juicing Cleanse
Monday, Feb. 3rd, 2014
We both woke up yesterday morning looking forward to starting this juice cleanse.
I find the more juice cleanses the easier it can be.
Here's the base of our juices (I wrote this to a friend in an email, so that's why it's written this way): Here’s our breakfast & lunch ORGANIC green juice (ideally you should yield a 32 oz juice)
One (or half if too tart for you) lemon 1 slice off an organic ginger (do as much as you would like)
Cucumbers (I’ve been getting the English cucumbers from Trader Joe’s)
1 package per serving Celery (one bunch per serving) (or if you get them from Trader Joe’s one package of the 2 bunches for the juice)
Romaine lettuce (I usually get the 3 head package from Trader Joe’s and use 1 head per juice)
My add-on to this are: organic stevia to taste and organic pumpkin spice. If you want to add an apple until your taste buds change, you can.
* as of 2017 I no longer use stevia or other sweeteners, I only add apples for sweetness.
For our dinner savory ORGANIC juice:
One (or half if too tart for you) lemon 2 large tomatoes or 3 roma tomatoes
Zucchini (1/2 package from Trader Joe’s per serving)
Red bell pepper 1/2 large or 1 small
Romaine (1 head from Trader Joe’s bag) Arugula or spinach (for flavor) 1 or 2 handfuls
Celery (1 bunch from Whole Foods or 1 package from Trader Joe’s)
My add-on to this: Real Salt or Himalayan salt to taste, Garlic powder or granules and cayenne to taste.
* 10/23/2018 I haven’t used salt in years and don’t recommend it anymore. If you crave salt it can be a sign of adrenal fatigue.
Make with LOVE! Enjoy!
My “Master Cleanse” lemonade 3 organic lemons squeezed in a half gallon of purified water, sprinkle in organic cayenne to taste, organic stevia to taste, and 12 drops Cellfood.
My in between tea – Organic Yerba Mate instant tea by Ancient Wisdom with Sweetleaf Stevia drops in Vanilla flavor and English Toffee flavor to taste.
I also have a glass of Health Force Elixir of the Lake blue-green algae…ton’s of nutrition and great for cleansing and an late afternoon pick me up.
I've also been drinking our Skinny Bliss tea.
And if you’re not overloaded with liquids, plenty of purified water to flush out toxins.

I've had several requests for me to share this recipe.
Holiday Cranberry Sauce
by Dr. Diondra, N.D.
1 8 oz package fresh organic cranberries (Traders Joe's has them)
1 medium organic orange (Trader Joe's should also have this)
1 cup chunked fresh organic pineapple (look for this at Whole Foods)
5-7 pitted organic dates - soak in purified water until soft (bulk section Whole Foods)
Organic coconut nectar, agave or yacon syrup to taste. (optional if not sweet enough)
Put all ingredients in food processor and blend until desired consistency.
Enjoy!

Blood Type Diet: Fact or Fiction? by Michael Klaper, M.D.
There's a big following for this diet with absolutely no scientific proof. Here's an article written by a real doctor that prescribes life-saving diets with the best explanation:
by Michael Klaper, M.D.
The "blood type diet" theory has gained widespread attention from the public since the release of "Eat Right For Your Type" by Peter J. D'Adamo, N. D. (G. P. Putnam's Sons, New York, 1996). The book's basic premise - that Type O's are the dominant, hunter-caveman type that require meat in the diet, Type A's are docile vegetarians, and Type B's are dairy-eating omnivores - has become a dietary manifesto for many people. However, the "blood type diet" theory, and the book that promotes it, presents many problems that prevent me from seriously basing any of my dietary choices upon them.

Green Zombie Killer Shake (dairy-free, sugar-free & fruit-free) Recipe
Green Zombie Killer Shake (dairy-free, sugar-free & fruit-free) Recipe
by Kim Smith
Here another one of my green smoothies that makes a lot if you follow the recipe, but you can put any extra in a mason jar and keep it in the fridge. I would try to drink it the same day. This definitely needs to be made in a high-speed blender like the Vitamix or Blendtec.
3 cups Skinny Bliss Tea or water
2 Tbsp. organic chia seeds
2 Tbsp. organic hemp seeds
2 Tbsp. organic pumpkin seeds
1 tsp. HealthForce Spirulina Manna
1/2 tsp. HealthForce Elixir of the Lake blue green algae
1 tsp. organic vanilla powder
1 rib organic celery
3 small organic cucumbers
3 cups greens (organic spring lettuce mix, organic spinach, etc...)
1-2 squirts Sweetleaf flavored liquid stevia (I used English Toffee)
If more sweetness is needed add Now Foods organic stevia powder to taste
Blend with ice.
Enjoy!
All of the wonderful essential fats in the seeds help disguise the flavor of the greens. This shake will kill any morning zombie feelings and give you amazing energy! All of the ingredients with the exception of the fresh organic veggies are available at Pure Health Foods.
